Try them in the 3D Designer. Details: Neck System | Neck System Blog.

How do I use the 3D Designer?

Add a component (body, electronics, etc.), click on it, and a side menu opens with all options. For solid colors: select "No Top Wood" then "Color." Desktop only at sharkguitars.com/designer.

Can I build a Prime guitar in the Designer?

Yes. Delete the Supreme electronics module and add Prime electronics instead. Remove any FX cards. Start building: 3D Designer. Or browse Prime guitars in the Store.

Can I use my own pickups?

Yes. The pickup module accepts single coils, humbuckers (passive and active), blade-style, and stacked pickups. Solderless installation via screw terminals. Active pickups (Fishman, EMG) are powered by the built-in 9V system. See Pickup Module | Shark Pickups | How Pickup Modules Work.

Technology

How does the Convertible Bridge work?

Patent-pending titanium bridge with three modes (tremolo, fixed, maintenance) switchable tool-free. 405g, 30 precision ball bearings, integrated tuners with 16+ semitones range per string, monoblock saddle with per-string height and intonation adjustment. 300+ anodized colors. Uses linear motion (not a pivot/knife-edge system) — no locking nut required, zero-friction micro rollers instead of knife edges.

Full details: Bridge Product Page | How to Switch Modes | Buy Bridge.

How does the bridge compare to a Kahler?

Kahler proved linear motion solves pitch drift. Shark shares that principle but adds: tool-free mode switching, integrated tuners, micro ball bearing rollers with no lateral movement, direct-drive arm, complete titanium construction, and 300+ anodized colors. Full specs: Bridge Product Page. Buy separately: Bridges & Nuts Store.

How does the Adjustable Fret System work?

Every fret is individually adjustable with a hex key — fine-tune fret height across the entire fretboard without a luthier. Stainless steel or titanium (anodizable). Patent-pending, standard on all Shark guitars. Available separately: Necks & Frets Store.

What are FX Cards?

Analog and digital effects in card format, exclusive to Supreme. Two main slots + one mini slot. 12 cards available: BST-1 Booster, BST-2 Warm Boost, CSR-1 Compressor, ODV-1/ODV-2 Overdrive, ODV-3 Mid-Boost OD, ODV-4 Hybrid OD, DST-1/DST-2 Distortion, FUZ-1 Fuzz, FX-1 Multi Effects (Delay & Reverb), CS-1 Cabinet Simulator.

Also available as curated 3-card FX Packs. Completely optional. See FX Cards Product Page | Buy FX Cards | FX Cards Deep Dive.

Does tuning hold after a neck swap?

Yes. Under normal conditions it goes straight back to being in tune. Worst case, minimal fine tuning. No restringing needed — the string carrier holds the strings during the swap. Watch: How to Change Necks.

What powers the electronics? Battery life?

A single 9V battery. A motion sensor auto-sleeps when the guitar is stationary and wakes instantly when you pick it up. Li-ion rechargeable option also available. Battery life varies by your pickup and FX card combination. More: Electronics Product Page | Shark Electronics Blog.

Is it safe to have electronics that close to your body?

Yes. Standard guitar-level audio signals at millivolts, powered by a 9V battery — far below anything that could affect the body. The module sits inside a Faraday cage-style shielded enclosure that isolates electronics from interference in both directions. More: Electronics Product Page.

Can I adjust string spacing?

Fixed at approximately 10.5mm — industry standard (same as Fender, Ibanez, etc.). Works with all nut widths. Per-string height and intonation are fully adjustable. Details: Bridge Product Page.

Is the bridge headless compatible?

Yes. Integrated tuners provide 16+ semitones of range per string. The bridge was designed with headless architecture (Hammerhead headstock) in mind from day one. See headless models: Guitar Store | Bridge Details.

Is Sustainiac compatible?

Not currently. Sustainiac requires a physical control carved into the body. We're exploring future solutions. Questions? Contact us.

Is piezo available?

Not yet. On our R&D department's radar. Let us know what you'd like to see.

How does the Shark Modular Nut work?

The Shark Modular Nut features a removable string carrier with per-string adjustment. During a neck swap, the carrier lifts out holding the strings, and drops back in when the new neck is mounted. A fixed OEM nut variant is also available for builders. Details: Nut Product Page | Nut Design Blog | Buy Nut.

What fret material — stainless steel or nickel?

Stainless steel and titanium. No nickel frets. Titanium frets can be anodized to match your color scheme. Both are harder and more durable than traditional nickel-silver. Available: Necks & Frets Store.

Is there a killswitch option?

Not currently. What we do have: pickup splitting (humbucker to single-coil), per-pickup tone shaping via DIP switches, and per-pickup drive selection through the FX Card system. On our radar for future evaluation. Electronics Details.

Can I install the bridge on my existing guitar?

Yes. We provide digital files and physical routing templates for custom installations. A professional luthier is recommended. Contact us with details of your guitar. See also: Catalogs & Templates | Buy Bridge.

Can I split humbuckers to single coil?

Yes. Pickup splitting is built into the Shark electronics — both Prime and Supreme. You can also shape each pickup's response via DIP switches on the back panel. Electronics | Electronics Blog.

About Shark Guitars

What is Shark Guitars?

Shark Guitars is building the next generation of the electric guitar. Founded by Cem Koksal after over eight years of R&D, every component is engineered as a unified system — giving musicians the ability to change pickups, necks, and effects while maintaining professional-grade performance. Learn more at our company profile or explore the Ocean Environment platform.

Where are Shark guitars made?

In our dedicated 1,600 sqm facility in Antalya, Turkey. Multi-axis CNC machining with sub-0.01mm tolerances on critical titanium components. Everything is manufactured in-house. See Company Profile | Inside the Shark Factory.

What makes Shark different from brands that failed?

Previous innovative guitar brands focused on one or two features. Shark is a complete integrated system — seven patent-pending technologies that each solve a real problem. The Adjustable Fret System alone has earned universal praise from players. Titanium hardware, sub-0.01mm precision machining, premium tonewoods — every detail is engineered with purpose.

And critically: no firmware, no phone app, no servers. Everything is mechanical and analog. Standard pickups work. Parts are available separately. Your guitar functions independently of us. Explore: Ocean Environment | All Products | Inside the Factory.

Why titanium instead of steel or brass?

Titanium reflects string energy exceptionally well (longer sustain), resists corrosion and scratching, and is lighter than steel. It also allows anodized color options with no finish wear over time. Because there's no coating, we hold very precise tolerances across every surface. See the titanium bridge and nut in detail: Bridge | Nut.

What is the Ocean Environment?

The Ocean Environment is the platform that connects all Shark technologies. Every Shark component is inter-compatible: any neck fits any body, any pickup module fits any slot, any FX card works in any electronics module. The only constraint is fret count (24-fret with 24-fret, 22 with 22). Through OEM licensing, any manufacturer can integrate components. Learn more: Ocean Environment | What is Guitar v2.0.

Do Shark necks fit other guitars (or vice versa)?

No. Shark necks only fit Shark bodies. The titanium T-Form joint is a proprietary precision connection — it's not compatible with bolt-on, set-neck, or other attachment systems. Within the Shark ecosystem, any neck fits any body (matching fret count). Details: Neck System.

Are the technologies patented?

All seven core technologies have patent applications filed. They are currently patent-pending. A comprehensive system patent also protects the entire integrated architecture. See all technologies: Products.
