The neck defines how a guitar feels in your hands. Some guitars feel like home the moment you pick them up. Something feels right. The profile fits your grip, the radius matches your technique, the thickness sits where your thumb naturally wants to be. For many players, neck feel is the single most important factor in choosing one guitar over another.
The problem is that finding the right feel usually means accepting everything else that comes with that particular guitar. The pickups, the body shape, the electronics, the entire package. You find a neck you love and then hope the rest of the guitar works for you.
Shark removes that constraint. Every guitar in our collections can be configured with different neck profiles at the point of purchase. Our curated designs and collections each follow specific design philosophies that cover different playing styles, and you can select from library presets on the product detail page to match any body, finish, and electronics combination with the neck that suits your hand. For complete control, the Shark 3D Designer lets you define every aspect of neck geometry. Thickness, taper, radius, symmetry, scalloping. You see the exact result before it goes into production.
The system is built on a T-Form Titanium Spine and locks into the body through a micron-precision titanium joint. This makes the neck a controlled, swappable component. You can own multiple necks, try different profiles with the same body, switch from fretted to fretless, pack them separately for travel, and avoid the bulk and hassle of carrying multiple complete guitars.
T-Form Titanium Spine
A structural titanium element sits at the core of every Shark neck. This T-Form spine provides permanent stability under string tension, temperature shifts, and humidity changes. It mechanically attaches with the body joint through a titanium-to-titanium robust, secure joint at micron tolerances.
The result is a neck that stays straight without adjustment. Action remains consistent session to session. The fretboard behaves predictably across its entire length, allowing extremely low action without buzz. The neck and body function as a robust, unified structure rather than separate components held together by bolts.

Precision Manufacturing
Shark manufactures necks in a dedicated facility built around multi-axis CNC systems for both wood and titanium. Metal components are machined to micrometer tolerances. Wood shaping follows controlled tenth-of-millimeter precision.
When you complete a design in the Shark 3D Designer or select a configuration from our collections, that specification goes directly into production systems. The CNC machines receive the exact parameters you defined. No manual re-entry, no human interpretation between what you see on screen and what gets built. Your design becomes the manufacturing instruction.
Design Your Custom Neck Profile
For complete customization, the Shark 3D Designer exposes the full parameter set in real time. Start from a library preset or build from scratch. Set thickness at the nut and 12th fret independently, choose shape and symmetry behavior, determine radius configuration (single or compound), select fret count and scale length, define scalloping pattern, and choose woods, inlays, and engraving.
The model updates as you edit and shows exact geometry. The same specification goes directly into production. What you see on screen is what gets manufactured.

Shark Necks Parameters
Shark treats neck geometry as a complete parameter set rather than a fixed shape. Available specifications include:

The Shark Neck Library
Shark organizes neck profiles into three main thickness classes (Thin, Regular, and Fat), with several distinct series within each class.
Razor and Vintage series represent straight necks with constant thickness from nut to heel. These cover the classic C, D, U, and V shapes. Razor necks use a flatter 18" radius for fast playing, while Vintage profiles maintain rounder radii. Razor appears only in the Thin class, while Vintage profiles span all three thickness ranges. Both deliver familiar, time-tested geometry that players recognize immediately.
Tapered series gradually thicken from nut to body, following modern conventions where the neck fills your hand as you move up the fretboard. Available in C, D, U, and V shapes across all three thickness classes, these profiles match the feel most players expect from contemporary instruments.
Chimera series introduces asymmetric geometry. The cross-section shifts diagonally along the neck length to match thumb and palm placement at different positions. Available in Thin, Regular, and Fat variants, Chimera addresses specific ergonomic needs that symmetric profiles cannot.
Reverse Taper profiles invert the standard expectation. They start fuller at the nut and slim toward the body, providing strong grip in first position and increased agility in upper registers.
Specialized profiles address particular technique requirements. Scalloped necks (shallow, medium, or deep), compound fretless designs, oval radius options, and compound shape transitions all appear in the library for players with specific needs.

Interchangeable Guitar Necks
Any Shark neck works with any Shark body as long as the fret counts match. You can own a fretted neck for most work and keep a fretless neck for specific tracks. You can try a Thin profile and a Fat profile with the same body. You can combine different necks with different bodies to build distinct instruments from the same component set.
Necks pack separately. The Shark Backpack carries multiple necks alongside bodies, pickup modules, and FX cards without the weight and bulk of multiple complete guitars. When you mount a neck, it seats into the Titanium Body Neck Joint with a push and locks in place tightly. Titanium to titanium contact at micron-level precision removes any movement at the joint, so the neck sits in the same position every time. Travel becomes simpler. Storage becomes more compact.
Action, intonation, and stability come from the titanium infrastructure and precision geometry, so swapping a neck feels like changing a parameter rather than adapting to a different instrument.
