Shark Multi-Function Titanium Nut

The Shark Titanium Nut is a precision machined, two-piece titanium component with a built-in String Carrier. It gives you per-string height and length adjustment right at the front of the guitar. Each string gets individual control over its action and intonation point at the nut.

This design became possible because Shark's Main Tuners sit on the bridge instead of the headstock. With no tuning mechanisms to accommodate, the nut could be redesigned around string action and utility. The lower section embeds into the neck and ties directly into the Titanium Neck Spine. This creates a stable anchor point that works as the front extension of the Shark Tremolo System.

The result is adjustable string action across the entire fingerboard. You can set the action at both ends (nut and bridge) giving you control over string height, string length, and how the guitar responds from the first fret through the last. The titanium construction keeps slots smooth and consistent. Strings move cleanly during tuning and return accurately after bends or tremolo use.

This is one of the most adjustable string setups available on an electric guitar, built into the standard configuration.

What the Shark Nut Does 

The Shark Nut replaces a traditional fixed nut with a structural, removable unit. It is made from 100% titanium, built in two parts, and screwed into the guitar’s T-Form titanium neck spine, working in tandem with the Shark Tremolo.

It provides precise control over string action from the headstock side, adds strong sustain thanks to its titanium construction, and lets you remove and refit the strings easily for maintenance, travel, or neck changes.

The Parts of the Shark Nut

The nut is built from two titanium pieces:

• A lower base embedded into the neck, connected to the titanium spine, acting as the secure slide lock that catches the string carrier securely with adjustable saddles.

• An upper removable string carrier that holds all six strings.

The lower base contains six individual saddles. Each saddle has its own height and length adjustment screw. When the string carrier is installed, the strings contact these saddles directly instead of a single fixed shelf.

The carrier is the visible block at the front of the headstock. Because the lower base is tied into the spine, the string carrier inserts into the latch slot, clicks, and locks into place securely.

Slide-Latch Removal

The Shark Nut has a slide latch linked to the lower base. In normal use, it locks the carrier in place. When you want to work on the neck, you set the Shark Tremolo to maintenance mode to relax string tension, then slide the latch on the nut.

This releases the carrier so you can lift it out with all six strings still attached. In practice, this means you can remove the nut and work on the neck or change it without tools or restringing, and then drop it back in and only fine tune it (if needed) without starting from zero.

Adjustable String Action From Both Ends

On most guitars, nut height is fixed once the slots are cut. On a Shark or any other guitar equipped with a Shark Nut, you can set action and scale at the nut per string.

On the carrier:

• Height screws under each string let you set how high that string sits at the nut.

• Mini saddles in front of each string let you fine-tune where the string actually starts, for precise intonation.

This gives you practical control over how the first positions feel. You can set low, fast action without rattle, or keep things a bit higher for a heavier attack. The Shark Tremolo side also handles action, spacing, and intonation at the bridge end.

Together, they form a system where you can precisely align your strings in every position on the fretboard, and at any height you desire, with perfect intonation.

What It Means For The Player

In practice, the Shark Titanium Nut turns the front of the guitar into a stable, adjustable anchor and eliminates any problem that might arise with traditional nut designs. Strings are securely attached to the nut, with the ability for action adjustment, and it works together with the Shark Tremolo and T-Form spine as one system. This provides superior sustain, as they are all connected as one titanium core. With this system, the guitar feels predictable whether you are playing, maintaining, or traveling with it.
